So why are people getting excited?
Precisely. Why scapegoat that cunt? He's just one of the faces of National party polcies that most of you wankers voted for. You think him going (or leadership change from Brash to Key) actually makes a jot of difference? Mugs.

Goes around comes around eh Nick?
Give a toss if his leaving changes anything. Having had the dubious pleasure of watching him lie to me and smile doing it, of watching his face register total disgust when the Rape Crisis people tried to hand him a banner at the Yacht club meeting.....Only hope he has further to fall, and suspect he does.
    Happy fcking days eh?

Don't want to kick someone when he's down, but he pretty much deserves it.

    What colour ye now, hypocrite.

Looks like we are all in agreement here but that poll you link to tells an interesting story: 36% of the 5000 odd votes said Nick didn't need to resign. He has far more support than I'd have guessed.

    True, but......

    1. On these polls most people vote for the side that they voted on during election.
    2. That poll was put up before the full story came out.

thats assuming that kb is a cross section of society..... ( actually I wanted to say the same thing) being fair kb may not be a typical cross section ..........still new Zealand voted the bankers in, a few people said ...you will be sorry , they didn't listen ...and now they are,,, I should be pissed off that nz is screwed, but I'm not .... if the economy goes down the toilet , it will make it cheaper for me....people vote national, vote sick Nick .. the Americans are good .... Russia , China bad .......it will trickle down....... young people are bad , ..... speeding is bad and unsafe Maori is not good

The mag article has part one (I think from memory) this has parts one and two. Not sure when parts 3&4 appear.

He's still there, just a back bencher now, earning more than most of us.

Shame really. I kinda liked the guy. At least he bought the price of second hand, over 600cc bikes down.

RIP Nick Smith - Long Live Nick Smith

Anyone naive enough to think that this will hurt the Hon Nick Smith's position on the political grid have my sympathy.

Sure he fucked up. Opps! He is sorry.

He will have a "well deseved" holiday on the back benches, and come back bigger and better than ever. Either that or receive a nice "hand shake" diplomatic position to slide into, I am not sure he had enough credits to qualify yet though.

Read his history folks, this is a career politician who knows how to play the game. He got caught out is all.

I feel sorry for his wife and family, they are about to run the gauntlet of media and public speculation that Nick ahs been a naughty boy.

An observation this morning when I heard the Hon :We dont have a smiley to suit: etc comment, I love my wife, I love my children. I have remained honourable to my wife etc.. My immediate thought. He should have laughed out loud at the suggestion he was porking Ms Whistle Blower. No smoke without fire.

Struggling to find my sympathy button, this man called me belligerent

Aye, wasn't meaning he was leaving parliament... but we can still hope that there's more to the story . I have no doubt he will still be an advisor to Donkey.
