    Nsr250 fouling plugs

Have a mate whos nsr250 is fouling plugs
He gets new plugs and last about 3 rides. What could this be?

    Is on standard oiling system
    Running BR9 plugs
    New leads

Havent had a look yet, Could it be wrong plugs? Oil mixture wrong?

possibly a combination of tired pistons/rings,and/or tired or badly set up carburetors,I have had that issue many times in the past with the NSR,it is a finely tuned piece of kit and does not tolerate poor setup or tuning.

When a 2T does not combust cleanly the plugs are usually the first to play up.

There are other variables too such as too much oil or poor quality oil or even simply a blocked air filter.

Before you go ripping into the carbs, check the basics first.

check the compression, most two strokes i have seen with this problem have needed a top end freshen up, but as has been noted earier check the basics first ie check for blocked air filters worn carbs ect

simple question. How is your buddy riding? it may be just that he's lugging it around like a four stroke
