    Motorcycle Popo got SMIDSYed tonight

He's one of mine. He got nailed turning turning right by a car turning right out of the side road he was turning into.

The car was in a give way. My man was on his own bike on the way home from work.

Driver said Sorry Mate I Didn't See You.

    Arse.

Broken tib and nasty degloving. Thanks God for good gear, or he'd have been a lot worse.

I think it was MSTRS or similar that reckoned drivers involved in a SMIDSY incident should have 'RETARD' painted on their car..
I reckon just making them drive only cars painted fluoro pink would suffice...

Is this the first damage from new law confusion?

    Hope he gets better soon.

So he failed to read any clues?

Don't try suggesting there weren't any.

I was down there a couple of weeks ago visiting the kids and was just about taken out twice a few hundred metres from the Station. I'm sure its not SMIDSY but rather SIDC (Sorry I Don't Care). Then I made the mistake of riding in the City, Jeez I thought Filtering in Wellington was dangerous the lack of care displayed by some drivers was shocking.

    I did not see you

So those who trot out "i did not see you" as a this reason for not giving way to a motorcyclist will now be required to have an eye test and redo the drivers licence test? yeah right, sorry about your guy but those who use this as a reason for not giving way should not have a licence, they are blind.

Read the first post ... the driver was on a give way ....so NO. The driver was turning out of a side road. So if it was a T intersection ... (with no signs) STILL no.
