7th Annual Kiwi Biker Gathering -Taupo - Queen's Birthday Weekend, 2-4 June 2012
Back due to popular demand! Same as previous years 07/08 and 09/10 for the KB Gathering.
*However, we do have a change of venue/Accomodation this year, we will be based in Taupo
Why
More central and we would like to go Napier ways for riding
WHAT IS THE KB GATHERING?
Kbers (kiwibikers) from North (Auckland/ Northland/waikato),South
(Wellington/Wairapa/Manawatu South Island (Christchurch)East(Bay Of plenty/Hawkes Bay) and
West(Taranaki) converge together in Taupo and have a bloody good time over the three days (or 4 if you head down earlier)
WHAT ARE WE DOING?
Friday
Some of us will make our lesuirely way down on the Friday. This day is optional as the main part of the "Gathering" is from Saturday to Monday.
Saturday
Regional groups ride to Taupo on Saturday (obviously you wouldn't ride direct, as its a
good chance to explore some roads on the way there), meet and greet Saturday arvo over a beer or two. Settle in for the night. there are hot pools close by and we are staying in the heart of Taupo for restaurant conniseures
Sunday
Go for a ride or Multiple group rides (depends on group numbers) Here are some suggestions, Taumaranui Saddle, Lake district - Dessert Rd -Ohakune way- Napier/ Hastings (preferred choice)-forgotten highway etc .....
Please suggest ideas for rides in the thread, the actual ride will be decided on the day or night before weather dependant!
Saturday/Sunday night could have a group BBQ or have a dinner at a Restaurant and drinkies etc.....
Monday
Say our goodbyes and head our separate ways home.
WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
Saturday 2nd June, Sunday 3rd June, and Monday the 4th June. after previous years experience some of us
will be making our way down on the friday.........

Not to far from Hot pools for those who wanna chill after a hard days riding.
Costs:
Ensuite double rooms $39 each per night per person
Single Rooms $60
Bunk Rooms up to 5 beds $28 per person
Female room only $28 each

Do you ride a road bike? Are you capable of riding more than a 1000kms in a 3-day weekend? Can you maintain open road speed? Then YES you can come Wifes/handbrakes/ pillions welcome.
