    Forgotten Highway

Well the weather is playing ball so I'll be doing the Forgotten Highway on Saturday - will be a pretty big day

    https://maps.google.co.nz/maps?saddr...,2,3,4&t=m&z=8

Leaving BP Papakura at 9am with the QKs and the rest of the crew. Won't be screwing around pulling up every 5mins because I want to be in Taupo before dark. Company would be nice.

Bear in mind that shaded roads hold the frost very late up on the central plateau.
    Clear skies means cold nights.
Ride safe, enjoy, sorry won't be here, going fishing!

Drove from Hamilton to Palmerston North yesterday and the roads aren't in too bad a condition... Most of the roadworks seems to be over Tauranga / Rotorua way.

Looking out the hotel window and it's another clear morning - not a cloud in the sky! Gotta drive to Wellywood today then catch a big bird back home. Luckily I already have the pack rack frame installed on the BK as I'm going to have stuff all time to pack!

    Catch you all tomorrow

What time will you kick off on Sunday for East Cape? I'm looking at riding down Sunday morning and have to head to Hamilton in the evening, so if take of is early enough then I may have time.

Not sure about East cape at this point - the group is likely doinng the Gentle Annie - plus my family are coming along as well so I'm thinking the shorter ride on Sunday might the way to go, seems a bit selfish it have them tow along along to be gone all day every day.
