If it was one or two extra bottles on an order of 12 I'd probably keep quiet.

But I would feel compelled to let them know on an error that big. The other issue of course is the possible consequences down stream. A court would definately take the view that you must have known that there was an error, and from there it would be all down hill.

Cheap plonk, if that's what 6 dozen is 'worth'...
In which case, Option 1, cos it wouldn't be drinkable, anyway.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

    True, I agree!

But lets rephrase that to: Option 1! "You'll" appreciate your honesty.. .... (in the long run, it's who you are and who you really want to be!)

Yep, contact them. Karma, "what goes around, comes around" and all that stuff. And you will feel really good inside. And you may avoid someone who made an error really getting hammered.

The Chinese BP owner who got Westpac $10 million accidentally must had this kind of thread posted up in some Chinese forum aswell.

I guess he decided to wait and see if they'd notice...

Another for Option 1. Honestly best policy. I'm agreeing with Tigertim as well - go for the honest option, but expenses are theirs.

They're shifting it on at $9 a bottle. 4 wines from a 2008 Chardonnay to a 2011 Pinot Gris but good stuff. We've bought a bit off them and never been disappointed. I guess they're just making room for the new vintage.

I'm interested to know what you did too, Option 1. They have your credit card details, and can just charge you for the goods received anyway. Honesty pays.

I made the phone call when I got to work this morning. Shared a laugh about it with the woman I spoke to. It gets picked up on Wednesday afternoon.

Can I have my good karma now?

Oh, and can I say how surprised I was at the result of the poll. Presently 87% picking optiion 1. I thought it would have been closer than that. Well done KBers!
