    New Rider (Skeletor)

    Hi All

I got my learners ages a go and have recently purchesed a Ninja250. This is my first bike so I'm pretty new to the whole scene.
I am now living in wellington and look forward to meeting some new people.

Not another Ninja warrior loose on the Wellington roads
Check out the meetings and events forum, you should be able to find the low paced rides and the Sunday riders etc. Sorry to say your timing a bit off with summer time ended things like the beginner rides etc stop as it is too dark be the time people get off work so the weekend rides might be your best bet at this stage.

Winter + Wellington's wind = Not ideal learning time... Even in the weekends.

(I live in Hamilton so I will tease any city that has worse weather than here.... There aren't many cities I can mock )

Good on ya Kurt stay safe and have fun

I got my bike in Christchurch where a learned to ride, Then rode to Nelson where my bike stayed with my folks and have been over Takaka hill (Recommended) Now in wellington I am comuting most days and have managed to go up Paekakariki hill a few times so have managed to get a fair bit of riding under my belt. Unfortunatley I have experienced the Wellington wind which I now try and avoid.

Good luck with that. Better you practice riding in the wind because a nice calm day on the morning commute can turn real nasty by home time. But I suspect you will have discovered this by this time The real reason to get your full and a bigger bike in Wellington, they are heavier and less affected by the wind.
