Fucking pedestrians annoy the hell outta me. Bastards come out from in between cars and jay walk right in front of you, just as you get a green. Kind of like they're just daring you yo hit them, and boy do I try. Skate boarders should be banned too. Don't get me started on BMX riders.....

    Actually, from the LTRUR...

    "
However, a driver may drive wholly or partly in a lane that is unavailable to the driver under subclause (1) or clause 4.6(2) to (4) if—
(a)it is impracticable to proceed otherwise because of—
(i)the size of the driver's vehicle; or
(ii)the size of the load on the driver's vehicle; or
    (iii)a road obstruction; and
(b)driving in that lane can be done safely and without impeding other traffic.

    "

If somebody were to try their luck in court, a traffic stopped in the lane maybe could be called a road obstruction, and provided that the motorcyclist used the lane safely and without impeding cyclists...

Whether we are driving or riding we get in a zone. Speed is constant and whilst we remain alert to any potential hazards, there is a good feeling to travelling along at a regular pace. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone found that there is endorphin release when riding or driving is going smoothly. And suddenly there is slow traffic in front. Doesn’t matter if it is a car, truck or cyclist, the calm is disturbed, the endorphin rush ebbs. The more we have to decelerate the greater the decrease in positive feeling. And generally with cyclists we have to slow way more than with other vehicles, so there goes any positive feeling. Withdrawal and the pissed off feeling that comes with it.

So yep, cyclists are welcome to ride but don’t slow other fucking traffic down

Such paople may exist but i don't know any. I pay ACC levies on a bike, a moped, and soon, on a car as well.
So some dickhead sees me on my pushbike and assumes I'm not paying ACC levies. Bollocks!

Mind you, I avoid the road as much as possible and use the walkway when I can. It's not that the pedestrians are more sensible than the idiot drivers, it's basically just that most of them are softer than a 4WD.

BECAUSE they are riding side by side, you are not forcing them (us) off the road by trying to squeeze past when you shouldnt.

I ride both cycles and bikes, and have done for 30 years. Cyclists have EVERY right to be side by side and take up as much of the lane as they deem necessary to not be killed by morons who have no idea what they are doing on the road. Just the same as you, as a motorcyclist have every right to ride in any part of your lane and NOT expect a car to be occupying it at the same time you are.

So you dont adhere to the law of , stay as far left as practible and dont hinder the flow of traffic travelling at a faster rate ??.
I also ride a pushbike and have riden motorcycles for decades, its not always safe for either to be on the road but if some pushbike riders want to make it really dangerous for themselves then just keep thinking that bullit proof is a rite of passage.

Reading this thread,, I can't help myself but to wonder.. Why is cyclists trying to take on the bikers here at KIWI BIKER?
You know you will never win an argument here.
Just because KiwiBiker allows room to be aware of other form of transportation on the road, doesn't give cyclists the right to justify their right OVER bikes.
Make a KIWI CYCLIST forum and justify your argument there. This is BIKERS forum you know

They ride both but the thing they forget is they probably ride a pushbike safer than most. They feel hurt that we have a bad impression of how they ride.Seems the same as the impression tin tops have of motorcyclists.Maybe they getting to many hurts and are ready to explode. We love them really like Honda riders but dont tell them that .

oh yeah I hear you. Leaving work last week nearly cleaned out a boarder about to board straight across the street. Tonight there were 5 peds walking down the street, spread out right across it and not one on the footpath either side, boy did they get a shock when a bike appeared behind them talk about scattering left and right. Ok, so the street does look a like a service lane but the way the couriers and taxis use it they were luck it was a bike that could use the gap created by their scattering.
