No,but the hippy hugging it would get squashed
Yes, of course.
No.
It depends...
Who cares?

Anyway, I feel people are overlooking the most important bit. Just what has Mr H been drinking lately? First the dirty rhymes, now this, the deep and introspective stuff. Whats next, the "I loves youse fullas.Yoush are my bessh mates" ?
On the other hand, its lasted at least a day or two, so well done on the length of the bender
"Not one day that we are here on this earth has been promised to us, so make the most of every day as if it was your last, and every breath ,as if it were the same"

Nature at a sub-atomic level does not conform to normal logic. An electron ..shows signs of being a particle..but it also shows signs of being a wave (so-called wave-particle duality)..and it cannot be a wave and a particle at the same time. Wave particle duality is nature's way of informing us that we have no right to impose our human concepts on the sub-atomic level...An electron is not a thing until we observe it.. If so does this not imply that reality depends on our observations?...and does this not imply that reality is created by human thoughts??
Hence, no observer, no sound. That's the answer according to metaphysical idealism...![]()

Fine, I'll be the one to answer logically. Yes it does
To every man upon this earth
Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

By "no one being there to hear it" I assume that means humans - it would say "nothing" if it meant all creatures. Therefore there will still be creatures with aural sensory organs to hear the thud. And even if there has been a nuclear holocaust, there would still be those damn cockroaches around to hear it.

2 cows are in a paddock and one falls.... Regardless of where there is anyone near, it is not (a) herd.

My $0.02 worth: it depends what you define as sound. Does molecular compression and expansion in the range 20-20,000 Hz constitute sound? What do you mean by 'nobody'? If an animal herd it would it be making a sound to that animal.
Ultimately the point of a measurement (in this case by your ear) is to make a decision, and depending on the risks or benefits involved you take an action, which may or may not be appropriate.
In light of the above point I'd have to say 'who cares?'.![]()

Two cows in a paddock, one turns to the other and says, "I hope this mad cow disease doesn't come here". The other replies," Doesnt bother me, Im a helicopter" (Helicopter sound with spitting included noise attached here)Originally Posted by Paul in NZ
