The 750 Turbo. Best of the mass produced turbo's by far I reckon.

Yes - purple metalflake is the devils colour.....

The worst accident I ever had was on a purple metal flake BSA A7SS (with chrome reverse cone megaphones). I purchased it 'cos my speedtwin didnt have a proper stand so I had to prop it up on a block of wood I left at work. Of course the bastards would hide my block every morning and laugh at my trials. The BSA had a proper main stand......... which fell off on the way home from picking it up and got run over by a truck - a big one.

    sigh

Not to be discouraged we went for a test ride with my mate on his near new T120V to test its speedo at terminal velocity. The gear lever fell off and damn near shattered my mates knee cap.

    sigh

That weekend we left a barn dance tingy (piss up in an old barn) to go get a feed. I was in the right wheel track and hit gravel spreading from a newly graded farmers drive on a tight bend. Mate was in the left track and missed it (6V lighting was really pathetic). Went down and wrecked my hand as my thumb went between the bike and the road. Hurt like a bitch. 10weeks off work.

    sigh

Bike just had some scuffed paint so I repaired it during the 10 weeks and repainted it.

1st time I rode it some clot pulled up un my right in a Mk2 Zephry and swung left into his driveway driving straight through me in the process. Fortunately I was already bady hurt so I hardly noticed the extra pain and it was a VERY deep gutter which stopped the car crushing me too much.

    sigh

Sold the wretched thing that weekend after I painted it silver and black. Saw the guy a few months later - he told me it was the best bike he had ever had and thanked me very much for the good price .....

    sigh.....

But as long as choice of helmet is voluntary I'd ride the Kwaka - good price too....

Doh. I was going to put the link to the Kwaka turbo on the thread with the basket case Z1000 (the turbo is a much better buy IMHO)

I lusted after a Kwaka turbo in 1985-6 when I was riding a ZX750A1 (same shape, normally aspirated 750) I jsut spoke to the guy and the bike is most likely sold

but yeah, purple metalflake helmet: its only $200 I should just bloody well buy it, right?

It'd end up being like my Davida Jet (black with flames yo) and Freddie Spencer Arai: expensive ornaments in my mancave/study/home office
