    Changing tyres

Does anyone do this themselves? is it an easy job? Or do you need specialist tools and equipment and skills? If so, what equipment do yu need ?

    thanks

Decent tyre levers and good rubber hammer and maybe a beadbreaker

Basically the more of them you do the easier it gets, what kid of wheels? wider wheels are normally easier to do than narrow wheels

Easy to do, but get the right tools. The longer the tyre lever the easier the job will be, get levers with a curl in the end. Have look at http://www.bits4bikes.co.nz/tools/tyre-wheel/905.aspx part number MP080007 for a good lever. Get some one to show you how to do the first tyre as there are a few tricks that make things easier. if you are doing road bike tyre buy some rim protectors to protect the paint on the edge of the rim, once again http://www.bits4bikes.co.nz/tools/tyre-wheel/905.aspx part number TM20.

I have been wondering that myself, need to change tyres on my track bike and don't want to fork out $60 - $95 each time I want to change the tyres. Saw a few pages on changing them yourself.

I used to do them back in the olden days. Still have the levers but can't be arsed these days. I get the shop to do 'em - they balance them better than I can too. Stick it on the credit card and hope I can pay it off one day...
