    Cardboard Cathedral

So Christchurch is to have a Cardboard Cathedral...

    The mind boggles...

Better be careful with the candles when they fall over in another earthquake.

Total waste of money. You could fit the ones who used to worship in the cathedral in 2 old telephone boxes.

For $4 million they should forget the cardboard and just use $5 notes.

If it keeps the spirits up of the locals, why not? Charge the tourists $5 for a guided tour and it'll pay for itself.

Or they could help out some locals who are still struggling.

    Short sightedness by a church?

If I'd was spending $5,000,000 on a temporary building I'd be inclined to consider spending $5 mill one a building that has the potential to offer real value to the community and could be onsold once my 'real' church was completed!

I haven't heard of any locals that want a cardboard church or a cardboard anything. It's a waste of money. Far more important things to be getting done around the place than building a novelty house of cards.
