VW-Audi set to buy Ducati for EUR 860 million

It looks like Volkswagen, in the form of Audi, are set to win the chase for Ducati, with the German car manufacturer allegedly poised to sign an EUR 860 million deal with current owners Investindustrial.

VW Chairman Ferdinand Piech has publically coveted the brand for some considerable time, losing out to the current owners the last time Ducati came up for sale in 2008.
