haha, so what did you break DL? the tool you made or some bits in the engine?

once i'v finished the aprilia (2023 at this rate) mrs wants to chop up her gn like a bobber or something different so it doesn't look like a gn anymore! so next project is ready n waiting haha.

ill take that 300 kit if u decide to let it go. mates rates n all since we are so tight

Bits in the engine the tool's fookin mint, even tried it on one of the GN motors to see if it was the tool's fault, nup. That bolt was just way too fuckin' tight.
The four shafty bits for the clutch spring bolts all sheared off
Have to get myself a flywheel puller, can't seem to make anything that works, but they're cheeeeeeeeap enough for me. (no, I'm not using my hammer)

Yeah man, I don't trust it though, I think the piston is on the piss (lol) so I was thinking of taking it to 79mm instead of 78 and running a DR350 piston.
I'll hold on to it for now though, might have to stick it in some tiny little AC50 type thing.

    That looks ideal to me

No luck with teh flywheel pulling yet, so I'll leave it be for a wee while and potter around doing other shit.

To polish the engine covers, or paint them? Can't decide really
Got some cap headed screws with lock wire holes drilled for the neutral sender, which is situated behind the clutch and prone to dropping itself in to a very fast spinning clutch basket... so no need to worry about that!
Polished the oil filter cover, because I got bored.
Then spent an hour or two re-arranging shit and putting DR250 and unneeded GN bits in boxes moar work space!

I think I'll raise the motor in the frame when I've done the flywheel. It looks a bit odd sitting a little low, I can raise it about an inch, which will bring the output shaft up closer to the swing arm, so I may get away without a chain roller

Now that you have a ridiculously over sized engine, howabout ridiculously oversized brakes?

I happen to have a ZZR600's caliper and mastercylinder/lever lying around doing nothing in particular......

Some real good cunt must have given you them
I did some searching a while a go and (from memory) I can use a GS550 RHS fork leg and caliper as the GN hub is the same and set up for twin disks, which would keep with the older look But I could do that and run the ZZR brakes on it I suppose, would work very well on a 130kg bike

Only if you're not going to use them. I'm not too sure they'll look good on the GN589? Bit too modern

You are more than doubling the power. You are adding ten kilos at least. And you are saying you want older brakes, than the ancient but better ones on offer?

    Keen bro.

    10kg? I don't think so, the lifting-sphincter-meter doesn't reckon there's 10kg in it
    And 10kg with a sub-60kg rider = meh.
I've had worse brakes on faster bikes (okay, no I haven't, but it sounded impressive to type)
And have you seen how much of a nana I usually am?
    And I don't care

    That 'bout covers it?

If I crash because I haven't got enough brakes, which I don't, this post might be edited

I do however think a set of twin disks will be adequate and it's not like the shit tyres are up to much more braking anyway
