    Righto.
Buying the thread and heavy duty needles to sew up my new seat cover.
Going to be black, of course.
Not certain about a diamond tuck or pleated look yet though. Nor am I certain what colour the stitching and piping needs to be. Maybe grey piping and red stitching, for teh racey look

Waiting for a gasket set and piston, so just threw some top end on it and test fitted the engine to run the cables etc
Might need to finish the tank...

I am liking how the new tank sits, the old gay teardrop GN tank was nearly on the motor...

Might need some slightly lower bars I think, will try sway these for some flat bars.

Not sure what colours to do the tank, but I have lots of black, so probably black and silver two tone (knee inserts on tank silver?)

Not a hell of a lot to buy for it now, just the switch gear, oil cooler, chain/sprockets so it's not a revvy fuck and exh piping.
    I think...

That's looking pretty decent, and should look a whole lot better once the tank is painted, but the seat and tail light seem a bit off to me - it's just begging for a cafe racer style rear end with flush-mount tail light and some mini indicators, a little like this.

I would do it, but I need this one to be comfy as it'll be my main transport when it's done

You're right about the tail light for shure
Might think about mounting it different and perhaps trim the gaurd

    Must keep simple...

Nice, the seat doesn't actually look bad, I'm just a bit partial to a cafe racer rear end, once you've remounted the tail light and painted the tank it should look pretty sweet.
And for that matter if you did want a comfy cafe rear end, surely you could just make a cowl that attaches to the rear subframe and just slips over the rear half of the seat, so you're still using the normal, well padded seat?

I love cafes too and I will build a proper one, one of these days
I thought about a bolt on seat cowl, but I'm fussy and a cafe tail, to me, needs to have a set of clip ons/clubmans and high pegs too. I'll go more scrambler with it, just to keep an upright position and an excuse for sick headers

Fair enough, after reading your build threads I had a feeling you might have a bit of an aversion to going with a half-assed workaround rather than doing it properly.
Good call though, I reckon it'd look awesome with some flatter bars and a scrambler style exhaust a bit like this.

Essentially that, minus the USDs is what I'm kind of going for
I'll be buying two sets of flat bars, one for this and I'm going to throw a set on the ZX6 to see if they look any good, that bike's hellishly uncomfy, only because it looks pretty.

I've been looking at my ginormous front rim. I think, if it has the right amount of spokes, I'll buy another rear (16 inch) and lace it up. Then I could run a nice looking 120 front and 130 rear.
I reckon that'll make the beasty look awesome

I mounted the speedo 15mm lower today, it looks mucho nicer too.

No other progress except a few carb bits and the oil cap are in the vibratory polisher thingy I've inherited from Bogan, along with lots of his stuff that makes my parts look like cheap shit (which they are)

Righto, can fit a 16 on the front
But, might look at getting some 17s, a few oldish 'zuki's ran 17 in rears with 36 spokes, but they were 4.5in I think, so I'll measure up and see how muchy room I have front and rear

Anyhoo, tank is etch primed and waiting for me to throw some bog in the dents, probably manage this evening
