Hmm, porbably isn't enough clearance to rock an under bike shock anyway.

Thinking of the normal-mono shock idea I had, would not look too pretty IMO, it'd clutter up the under seat area too much (only things under there will be reg/rec for airflow and the pod filter)

So, it's either stay twin shock, or turn my brain on and look at your single side shock idea.

Was also thinking for teh rear brake, I'll just get a shithouse single piston caliper and what not off an MX bike and mount it under the swinger. The spare ZZR rear brake I have is that spastic twin piston POS
Would use the original front caliper on the rear, but it's far too ugly and big looking.

Well the grips and switchgear is well fitted to the GN. Swingarm I'm not so sure but it is shiny, so I think we can let it slide

Chur! Ditching the side mounted shocks will mean I can haz nicer pipes up the side.
No monoshock at this stage, too typical really. Going to be somewhat unorthodox with the rear suspension, so it's still twin shock, but not as we know it.

Swinger was a surprise, GN axle bushes slip straight in the the CRF pivot tubes, even use the CRF needle rollers.
Will make small spacers and that'll be that end sorted.
GN rim fits in sweet as. Will have the sprocket carrier lathed down a wee bit to get the offset on the sprocket just right. Spacers for the rim are piss easy to do too.
There's a mount on the RHS (now the swinger is upside down to have the shock mount up top) that just happens to be ideal for the drum brake torque arm thingymijig.

So, pretty easy swap all together.
Haven't got the time to spanner on it at the mo, have track/rally cars I'm prepping etc, but will get some pics when I have the shock mounts done

Coming along nicely, brake lever is fucking massive init, passenger pegs also don't gel so good with the cleanliness.

Suspension looks interesting, how's that all gonna work?

Well, the frame tubes are slowly gonna bend up, and the bike will become a low rider over time.

I was thinking more those shocks look like the standard twin shocks, so they will be well soft. Doubt they would apply enough force to bend the frame tubes before the rear tyre makes its way through that sweet tail hump thingo.

I'm pretty sure those gussetts (hehehe, gussett) that the good folk at Suzuki put at the normal shock mounting point, are somewhat important. Particularly when one considers that as you point out, a stiffer spring is required so more than normal force is being directed to the new mounting area.

I started on the top suspension mount today, got it tacked in place and it'll break and I'll die.

    Chur bro!

Top mount is 25x80 box section welded across the frame, with 25x25 arms coming out 30mm forward, welded on and gussted. I'm not doing the welding, somebody who actually knows how is.

The rest of the bike will snap before this does. The frame is being gussted in a few places, it's incredibly weak.

I said many moons ao that the shocks were fucked and are getting replaced.

    Bunch of fucking pussies.

Got teh suspsension mount sorted, will be welded in when the rest of the bike is ready for welding by my welder-guy.

Made up the top engine mount, will make the front one up then do the rear ones
Am keeping an eye out for a set of twin shocks that actually work, unlike my unbelievably saggy shitters.

It looks like it'll be much easier to get a single shock set up properly on this in terms of spring rate, by easy is gay.

Still juggling up the cafe tail vs the flat scrambler style seat, leaning towards scrambler at the mo. With a bad-ass scrambler headlight guard and pipes.
The stance is more scrambler than cafe now, so it makes sense... (convince me!)

Still hoping to find a kick start lever for it, I forgot the spline size but might be 23mm coarse? So if anyone has something suitable, please let me know.
