I'm looking for a 92 blade atm.. took a test ride yesterday.. fuck they are a laugh aye, fair bit different to me second gen. one.

maybe ill just email some ppl saying I've got 16 mil to give them if they just chuck 200 bucks in my acc first to help with the transfer costs etc

p.s. she comes on here to see what im sayingbetter behave..
Finally got around to pulling the rocker cover to check the cam chain.
Cam looks like a shark's breakfast and the cahin is so stretched the tensioner doesn't do anything
Geoff drinks oil. 1L+ per 200km![]()
All I can do is laugh because I cannot be bothered throwing a piston/barrel on it at the moment, and it still manages to cruise at 110 most of the time, unless it's doing the random miss/bog down/surge.
This bike rules.
Oh and there are broken bolts everywhere, I'm beginning to get scared of touching it and finding more previous owner modifications![]()
Still haven't done anything practical, but making a list of shit to buy.
piston/barrel is just under $150.
Gasket set ~$50
Bearings ~$50
Cam chain $56
Probably cheaper than buying another motor...and better in theory.
Really can't be buggered with it though, the 600 is nearly done and is actually cool, Geoff is being neglected, better oil/petrol him tomorrow and thrash it 'till that cam chain snaps, or a rod hits me in the scrot.
Update lacking in pictures!
Pulled the head off yesterday, which was a total of 40 minutes, about as much as I can be buggered with on a GN
Head gasket is rooted, has been squashed/bent near one of the oil passages and explains why it's been throwing oil past the gasket and burning it too.
One burnt-ish valve. Could have been far worse if I hadn't done the clearances as soon as I got the poor fella.
One single deep scratch in an otherwise mint looking borebore is within spec and looks like the barrel has previously been replaced.
Wee bit of wear on the camshaft, meh.
Once I find someone who can read me some Japanese I'll be buying some parts directly from the little men who make them, this will include, full gasket set, 300cc kit (why not?) bearings, tensioner (they use a stupid coiled up bit of steel...because that'll last!) and some valves.
Once I acquire a dremel I'm going to attack the head, the intake side is reasonably well cut/ported but the exhaust side is disgusting, so I'll match them up.
Fun and games dear chaps!
haha put the gn in the shed n walk away!
saw the 300cc kits.. wonder if they would make much diff..
My Dremmel is one of the most valuable tools in my shed, so useful! and they dont even cost that much!
short answer, no. I looked into it when I first got the dr. it makes fuckall difference, but if youre replacing the cylinder anyway, then its fuckall difference to go the 300. a tiny bit more tourque.
Get some DR cams as well and throw them in if youre going that far.
3hp difference...but, at the cost difference between bringing a new 250 barrel/piston in and a 300cc kit...
Can't find the 346cc kit people used to throw on the DR
I've wanted one for ages for odd jobs, now is a good time to get one
What model DR? And there's only one cam...where the hell am I going to fit multiple
I'd love to find an NZ250 top end and do a DOHC conversion with 300cc under it, would be hilarious a GNZ300![]()
