In my excitement to get it back in, I don't think so. I did look at the marks and consider it, I know that much.
It's not too hard to raise the barrel enough to seal it.
Or just run a bead of sticky shizz around it![]()
At least we know I remembered to put the piston back in![]()
Something I forgot, I fucking hate matt black paint now.
Got a drip on the cover when filling with oil.
So I cleaned it and cleared the stupid things
As Yoda would say "up with that, I will not put"
There is a well modded GN next to my NEW place of work, I will try to get some pics for you. Its been turned into a Bobber.....
looks better than a standard one in bobber form. should be a factory option eh. less parts.. black.. easy.
id do that since it wouldnt cost much cash
you got the 300cc thing going? vids, top speed run
It's going, running open headers... so it's running like a pig.
Got jets coming and am hoping to have the pipe for my new headers this week.
Goes better down low, can't rev it, it falls on its face lol
If you've heard a loud single, you've heard 'em all lol
Mine hasn't cost anything except paint, tail light and the rebuild really. Oh and headers![]()
Quick recap seeing as it's almost done now (headers and tune up pending)
Snapped up for $660
did some stuff
Parts:
$220 for the 300 kit/cam/cam chain/gasket set
$6 NGK D8EA plug
$60 in paint
$13 for the tail light
$80 exhaust pipe
$10 pod filter
$6 for bigger main jet
One packet of staples for the seat re-shape.
That comes to $1055 or thereabouts.
Not too bad eh?
So when I originally said I wanted a cheap, reliable and simple run around and how many scoffed?![]()
Don't doubt the mad
Well, I whippied the head/barrel off, cleaned the surfaces, slammed a new gasket (I had three new base gaskets) in with a thin smear of sealnt on/under the gasket.
Thre it all together, torqued it down etc
Went for a 20km ride
I have to say, I am very impressed with how ell it goes.
It should go even better with a set of headers and some better jetting![]()
Not really any need to use anything except 5th gear
First is useless, just use second even on hills.
I'll work the gearing out and change the sprockets so it's doing around 7krpm at 100 methinks
I'm bloody happy with this!!!!!!!
haha she looks good!
yip, i had a loud ass 600cc single. yamaha srx 6. all good fun haha.
Yeah man, my CB400 owed me under $1500, wof/reg, new seat cover and a Sport Demon![]()
The 600, pre flip, owed me in the region of 14-1500
Fuck yeah, singles rock.
Spent the evening hacking a stuffed bit of rotten double walled pipe out the original y pipe so I could fit it together and bodge-job the muffler on
Sounds tits, will see how well it runs tomorrow (have nooootttthing to do really, so I think I'll spend the day on the bike)
I'm going to go 16/39 sprockets over the stock 15/41, I chucked the data in to gearing commander and it'll be plodding along at just under 6k, it certainly has the grunt for it now![]()
