I started removing shit from the loom. The pulled it completely apart, there's so much unneeded shit in it!
So that'll save 80 grams or so
Thankfully wiring a DR600 is easy, my diagram is in German, which I haven't studied for years, but it all makes sense

    Loom's around half done already.

    Looking at gearing now.
If I run what it has, 16/41 it will be geared to max at 160.3 and be doing 4000rpm at 100. Too short for my liking.
If I go 17/39 it'll have a theoretical max of 180 and be doing 3630 at 100. A bit more relaxed.
I'd say it'll have the grunt to push even longer gearing, but I only want it to be doing reasonable revs at 100. The thought of running a GN up over the ton isn't to inviting sounding...

So I'll buy some new sprockets I have to give it a go on that short gearing though... fuck it'll be silly.
Better p/w than an MC22/ZXR etc, which shall make for some fun times

If I had the cash I'd buy that, really good price

Got up this morning, started playing with the loom, putting it on the bike etc. It's nearly there, just need to do the 12v power wires to everything and it's ready for switches.

It's fucking simple to re-loom something like this, only a full day of work, give or take a few hours. Under the seat is only CDI and indicator relay now, I like simple.
Once I've made the dash thingy for the switches I'll re-wrap the loom.

I actually really enjoyed doing this loom, might re-do the Kawasaki too, it has far too much in terms of wiring

There's also a fair bit of wire left from the old shithouse Suzuki effort, which had far too much shit in it

Before I got distracted, I got fuck all done. Had to be a nice guy and help a mate check over a few BMW M3s he's considering buying, and I'm needed for that as I'm the biggest M3 nut ever.
So I got to ride in two very, very tasty M3s instead of listening to Pink Floyd and making ghey bikes

What model M3? A mate has an E36 325, with a twin turbo Supra motor to motivate it. Seriously fucking fast car.

E30 and an E36 3.0 set up for Tarmac rally
I love the idea of a 2JZ in an E36, I was thinking of dumping a 1JZ in to my last E36 coupe I had... Might have to do it. You can buy mount kits and wiring kits from a company in Japland too.
But, for the money I'd rather buy an E36 M3. We went to view them in a Msport optioned E36 328i, and it felt like an absolute sack of poo afterwards. There's just something about the E36 M3 that gets me going, apart from the noise

That'd be a loose bitch and a tight fit too

Na, 325 runs a six anyway, and lot bigger tranz tunnel.

Only thing that didn't fit was the intercooler, but it's hard to fit 300mm by 1000mm by 100mm behind a grill in any car I guess, so it's on display right out front.

The 4 and 6 have the same trans tunnel as a getrag 260/265 fits in any of them.
Could it still fit the fan between the motor and rad, or is it mounted in front? I'd love to see that.

I've seen a few V8 conversions and there are a few M70 V12 conversions Fun little chassis the E30, the 36 is a far better car though

I'm just working on what he told me, and he's pretty switched on.

Got electric fans on the motor side of the rad I think, but it's been a while since I saw it.

Whole car has been retro fitted with goodness, huge brakes, stupidly expensive suspension, and the earlier mentioned IRS.

It has fuck all E30 left, except the cool looks. The 36 is an ugly little fucker I reckon.

They're not as sorted as the 36, but the 36 is rather beige looking and the interior will fall out lol
They're all IRS too, and being a 325i it would have had a standard disc rear end, which is always good for when you rip it out and sell it

I'd love to see it (or go fro a blat...that 2JZ is a sexual motor)

The thing is fuckin mental. Stock motor, except it's got three inch pipe right through, a couple pod filters, and the intercooler. 219kw at the treads.

Nice and responsive when left stock, that's a lot of power for an E30 I have a mate with relatively minor mods on a 1JZ putting out 270+ at the treads in a Soarer, goes okay

Flywheel puller (lol, puller) should be here any day now

Was a bit of a cheat and used oven cleaner to strip the paint on the LHS cover, makes polishing a lot easier as you don't have to sand through the paint.
I'm not making the covers too bling looking, everything must match the dents in the tank, I'm hoping to make a well used, but well cared for look (like any missus I've had)

Still not completely decided on the switch gear, I could run a switch block on the LHS, but everything I've seen so far is too ugly or modern, anybody got suggestions there?
To run a bunch of switches from the bar clamp, I'll need to have them raised fairly high (10-15mm) to clear the bars, and fuck that ugly shit.
I'll look at doing clip ons I loves me some clip ons
