    Great "band" for sure.

Of the original lineup, only Robbie Robertson and Garth Hudson still alive.

Check out Jason Isbell's tribute to Rick Danko and Richard Manuel:

I kinda wish he and Ryan had done this when we saw them in sunny Dunedin last month.

Funny old world. I was in San Francisco the night of the Last Waltz at the Winterland on a student exchange. But we were too jetlagged coming from NZ to go to the concert. One of those lifetime regrets.

I've a few of those myself. interestingly some of the best times I've had at rock and roll shows have been when I was dragged along by others. Best example of that is The Smashing Pumpkins touring "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness": i was deep into my roots/country/americana phase and didnt want to go but went anyway. Completely blown away by the redemptive power of rock and roll.
