    What new modem (oldguy)

since all you I.T. people are all in one place/ thread, this will save me starting a new thread, im looking at getting a new ADSL wireless router, Ive got a Telecom Thomson TG585 4 port wireless ADSL2+ router, which has started losing Internet connections every now and then.
On my home network i am running 2 desktops and 2 laptops all wireless, Im wondering is this too much for my router why it keeps dropping Internet connection.
Should I buy another router, and what make model, would you recommend.
Why would you ride that long and that gnarly stuff if you don't have to, Its what we do, we love it.

Too lazy to start a new thread eh? Too much for your router...probably not. That model is pretty stable. See other thread about dodgy filters/wiring/adsl connection first.

If you must try another router, threaten to leave Telecom for Vodafone....mention "they'll give me a free router" and the customer rep's "supervisor" normally steps in and offers you a free replacement. Otherwise, cheapo TP-Link ADSL routers are absolutely rock solid. Wish I could say the same about D-link, Belkin, Netgear and Linksys stuff I've sold.
