    Can you.....

Can you catch the cold/flu when no-one you know has been sick?

I've already had the cold/flu twice this year and it's starting again today and I havn't been around anyone in the last 2 weeks who's been sick... whats with that?

*might be the first one to start the next super virus*

Only if you run reeaallly fast & use an approved catchything
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

If you were sick in a forest and no one knew you were sick would you still make a sound? Hang on, wrong thread...

Some days it's not even worth chewing through the restraints.

    How To Avoid The Flu

Eat right! Make sure you get your daily dose of fruits and veggies.
Take your vitamins and bump up your vitamin C.
Get plenty of exercise because exercise helps build your immune system.
Walk for at least an hour a day, go for a swim,
take the stairs instead of the elevator, etc.
Wash your hands often. If you can't wash them,
keep a bottle of antibacterial stuff around.
Get lots of fresh air. Open windows whenever possible.
    Get plenty of rest.

Try to eliminate as much stress from your life as you can.

OR Take the doctor's surgery approach.
    Think about it...
When you go for a shot, what do they do first?

    Clean your arm with alcohol.
    Why?

    Because alcohol kills germs.

    So......

I walk to the bottle store. (exercise)
I put lemon in my Rum and Coke..(fruit)
Celery in my Bloody Mary (veggies)
Drink outdoors on the patio..(fresh air)
Get drunk, tell jokes, laugh..(eliminate stress)
    Then pass out. (rest)

    The way I see it...

If you keep your alcohol levels up,

    flu germs can't get you!!!!

As you're just on the start of getting the flu, now is the time to become a fish and drink heaps of water and attempt to flush it out of your body before you really do get the flu and be stuck with it for the next two-three weeks.
This works most of the time for me. Try it.
Eat heaps of fruit and vegetables too and follow what 'crashe' wrote.
90% of the time spent writing this post was spent thinking of something witty to say. It may have been wasted.

My understanding is that a person is at the contagious stage when they aren't displaying any symptoms, ie once you've got wheezes & sneezes your not likely to pass it on
It is better to have ridden & crashed than never to have ridden at all

I thought coughing and sneezing were two of the ways a cold/flu could be passed on.

I think I heard some people can be a carrier for the cold virus and not actually get sick from it while others will get sick, so you could catch it from someone that was healthy.
