    GSXR to GSXR rim fitment?

    Ok to clarify.
    Bike is a race gsxr400 1987 year.

I have a 250bandit rear rim on it and fits well with a dry tire on it.

I need to try to get a 4.5 inch rim in the rear to fit wets to as they only come in 160 profile and they dont go on a 4 inch rim well im told.

I know where i can get a gsxr400 1991 4.5 inch rear but it has a 20ml axel not 17ml which is in my bike.

My question for you engineers is .

Would it be possible to make a 1.5ml spacer that fits tight inside the bearings and goes right through from the outside of the sprocket carrier to the other side of the wheel bearing then get a spacer to fit between the wheel and brake caliper holder and if it can be done would it be safe?.

The idea is to reduce the 20ml hole with a 1.5ml round to a 17ml axel but wonder if 1.5 ml would flex and possabily break.

    Ant coments wellcome.

Change the bearings to ones with a 17mm internal diameter.

Unsure of your exact plan, as I'd need a diagram of the wheel assembly. But you can make spacers to fit different bearings/shafts easily enough, just need to take care to get the diameters exactly right. .01mm tolerance sort of thing, or if you're rough, .03 and some loctite!

I made a 0.5mm thick stem spacer last year, no worries, potentially even more precision than Mr Kawasaki had from factory

Bugger i just did a google search [done before but missed what i was looking for] and it seems my bearings are 6303 size 17x47x14 and the gsxr400 1991 unless im wrong takes a 6204 size 20x47x14 so all i need do is change the bearing to a6303 and im sweet.

Can anyone confirm the bearing sizes in the 1991 rear rim gsxr400?.
