I have a nice left handed base in the cupboard somewhere - I was enjoying learning to play it when I decided to pull in the clutch when going down on my flattracker, the nerves of my plucking fingers were a bit stuffed. I could've switched to a pick, but really like using my two fingers. After 20 years the ends of my fingers are still a bit dead, although I've been thinking about getting it out again with the bike being on hold over winter....as too many tooth extractions means playing the saxophone is now not possible. Being a musician means keeping your body in good physical condition.... but I can still ride a bike in a pretty fuck up state.

This is the only song I mastered on the bass.
Think I was even there when this was filmed.

I have been learning the electric base for a while. All I can say is it's a good instrument for a guy with big fat fingers.

i almost amputated the pad on a finger on my left hand a year or so a go.. it feels so weird i dont feel comfortable playing any more.. probably should though, to get used to it properly. It doesnt stop me... just feels weird.

BTW, black night is to bass players what smoke on the water is to guitar players..
