    Thumbs up 1999-01 R1 Steering damper/mounting kit

Well after a little while riding the R1 and trying different suspension settings, I am of the opinon that my bike needs a steering damper.

Would anyone know of any going for a good (cheap) price.

I would need the mounting kit as well.

Would prefer the clever and trick looking transverse (across the tank) kit.

If nothing is to be found here Ebay here I come

    Thanks very much

If you spend some time setting up the rear end you will find the only thing you need a damper for is landing high speed wheelies I put an ohlins on mine with a harris mounting kit just for landing wheelies, but i found a day spent sorting the rear shock is a much better investment...let me know if you have any probs i can tell you how i did mine.

    Hi mate.

Thanks for the reply I have been working on my settings and have taken careful note of them, but any tricks that you may know of I am keen to hear. if you have some good liks I would also be interested to view.

I do get out and about on the rear wheel quite a bit as well

The most recent concern was hard acceleration, up hill over (of course) bumps and undulations front lit up which was ok but it did it about three times that day.

I have an Ohlins on mine. Good investment I reckon especially as the front seems to like so much fresh air so often!!!!!!!! Why do all the new litre bikes have one except the ZX10 but will be interesting to see if the next one has one??? Good Luck.

Not many people would have a spare one of these lying round the house I'd imagine... And if they did they'd probably have them fitted to their screen door already as one of those automatic closer things.

Wheelieieieing (might have spelt that wrong?) as much as you do, I'd just go and buy one - fuck the cost. Sort of like a $13.50 vodka at 2 in the morning getting written off at a wanky bar, you just have to have one.
    Because I can...
