Nah - they wont leave. The committed drinkers hang around threads like this and will encourage you to drink because basically they can't control their own drinking. Make no mistake - alcohol is a powerful and addictive drug and once it gets its claws into you you are pretty well hooked for life BUT with the right motivation you can make a choice.

I think if you are concerned about your drinking then there is a very high chance its becoming a problem so good onya for giving it a go.

I find if I schedule a session at the gym early sat morning its a powerful motivator to avoid the friday night 'I deserve a drink' thing.

Residual or newly drunk? I think there is a super bonus liver point for being freshly drunk on a monday morning?

For a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him. Keep an open mind, just dont let your brains fall out.

I'm off to the pub. Now if only they served a refreshing, carbonated, tasty amber liquid derived from hops.

i have no objection to drinking, and have on the odd occasion enjoyed the odd beverage.
i've also drunk enough to give any mere mortal alcohol poisoning, made an absolute arse of myself in ways and days i'd rather forget.

alcohol is a neurotoxin. (not a drug, as it is commonly bandied around as/with)

consuming anything is personal choice, as long as you do no harm to anyone else, it's noone elses business what reason you do or don't
