    FXR timing?

Does anyone know what the base or static timing for an FXR is?

Are you fitting an ignitech? just put in 10° and a flat curve (??) put a strobe on it , adjust the curve till the marks line up.

    Or you could measure it
My neighbours diary says I have boundary issues

They are preset yes but not for an FXR. Just a standard 4 banger setup. When I had a play it didn't seam to detonate with what ever it was. I think it was 15 @ 2k. Could be wrong. Then flat. but also rev limiter was 15 so make sure you check that.

Pretty sure Ignitech asked a lot of info on the motor before they would send the ignition, the only change we made before the 2hr was lifting the rev limiter to 13k. It's not optimised but it sure runs good. Arrons bike was certainly quicker around Mt Wellington than mine, and its about to get quicker again! Now if I could just convince him to stay in B grade I might be able to borrow it for A grade racing

10* to 1000rpm then slopes up to 35* at 3500rpm then flat.
    Rev limiter set at 11k

Cheers. Interesting its all in at such low rpm. And rev limiter so low. One of the recommended settings I got was 15 deg at 1500 and then 35 at 7.5 / 8k then flat or retard after that depending on if it is detonating. All advance in before engine peak toque. I will be having another crack soon. But what works on one engine might kill another.

These are just the base settings. Will still have to get it on the dyno and see what works best. My engine only has carb and exhuast mods so far.

haaa... not wrong about staying in B grade... I hear that they might be lifting the A grade time to 32sec. Thats puts me back in to B grade just!
    I like that idea!

Come on Kel... that monster 2smoke will be the track killer...!
