Rea got in there...there was room. Haslam should have been expecting someone to have a go and been ready....it was the last corner ffs!
But f*ck, what good racing!

I know it was heat of the moment 'n all, but could Rea have tightened his line up? It looks like he had half a metre or so on his left... His helmet is up and looking where he's going rather than where he wants to go (again, I know it was heat-of-the-moment) which might have made him drift wide, and subsequently into Haslam. I dunno... just my observation.
He did it earlier in the race too (on Melandri I think) and got away with it....funny how some people whine about racers "T-boning" other racers here in NZ when they go in to hot for a gap that was never there but when it comes to WSBK its ok?! Rea was hot in and was never going to make it without collateral damage...I felt for BMW.
Although...I must add...what some sensational racing prior to the last corner!
I didn't see anyone 'T boning' anyone in that bit. How many times have you seen Rossi go for a minute gap to win a race last corner last lap? Sete Gibernau know's all about it. So does Lorenzo. He passed Stoner on the dirt at Laguna Seca. I've seen an awesome picture of Aaron Slight when he won the Australian Superbike Championship nearly putting his ZXR750 in the dirt going under someone who'd ridden the near perfect defensive line but still got taken.
I'm not into dirty riding. I've never ever taken anyone out unless there was no other option avail. But these guys mean business mate.
Here's another Pom's take on it - I must say I do agree with him - looked like a a fair gap to me.

Jon Rea tried it at again at Brno - didn't work this time lol http://superbikeplanet.com/2012/Jul/120723ll.htm

Hard to say, both times it looks to me like Rea has tried to force a gap that was dubious in the closing laps, worked in his favour at Donnigton and not so much at Brno. I'd have to put fault more on Rea's shoulders than Sykes' this time.
