    Rear wheel paddock stand

    Hi guys,

Looking at getting a rear wheel paddock stand and was just wondering if I should get the bobbin type one or the one that sits under the swing arm? Or is it just personal preference?

Bobbins if your bike's swingarm allows 'em — bit more stable.

May be personal preference but I'd go for the bobbin type. Much less chance of things moving around once you have the wheel off the ground, also much easier if you have a swing arm that doesn't have two arms that aren't both straight and parallel.

The one I use goes under the swing arm. Never had a problem with that.

agreed. neither of my bikes on paddock stands fell over in the garage in the EQs but the one time one was on the sidestand it did. and the scroter does every time.

Bobbins. I have the other type and it can be a bit fiddly , also the bike slides on the plastic holder things sometimes and while it has never fallen off it's not too good on the heart.

Bobbins but a "House of Custom" stand will do the lot. Cheap too.

Ive gotta second SSP's suggestion. I just ordered a House of Custom stand and you can choose either to use the bobbin type or under the swing arm type braces. Pretty cheap as well.
