yes i've got a set or three. i will be in warkworth nekk week, but my tools are up home. so not a lot of good... unless it can wait a couple of weeks when i'll be coming back through again. probably.
but yea, your other option is to get a drill that is the same as the minor pitch diameter and drill that f*cker.

    OR
you can go down to bunnings and buy a set of stud extractors for about 10-30$, use em, snap one and take em back for a refund...
not that i advocate buying shit tools at all. but if you're worried about forking out $$...

I have an easy-out set in the shed but my shed is in Puke'. I'm going to be at Hampton Downs ART on Sunday, if you know anybody who's going I can give it to them. Sing out if you need it.

You think right, what a plonker I am, never thought to take it off so there would be some sticking out the front

Best bet is to go down to bunnings and buy a left hand drill bit in a size a little smaller than the bolt.

I would prefer it to be in and out, not straight through

I was actually really surprised at how little "shiney" metal was holing this bolt together. Almost none. There was a sliver of unoxidised metal showing, and that was all. Anyone got any ideas why the bolt would have failed like that?

I ride it most days to work with a small pack on. No real weight, my shoes and my lunch etc. Last weekend I had my big pack on (had to take the hair dryer and all that crap) obviously that was enough to snap the fecker. I did notice Millie reacting a bit more than usual in the wind riding down to Urenui last weekend, but put it down to the extra weight. Could that have been the beginning of the end?

These sort of bolts get made in the thousands each day. Some are flawed ... such is life. Probably one in a few hundred thousand are seriously flawed. Thank you for having it fitted to YOUR bike. It could quite easily have been fitted to another bike. One of OURS ... again ... thank you for that ...

We wasn't taking the piss, it's actually a great way to get a broken bolt out. Drill goes in reverse (most drills will, every cordless drill will at least, and that's all you'd need). When the flutes grab on the bolt, they'll either start drilling, or wind it out for you.
