Yeah I'm pretty open with my choices, I'm not bothered if I get a sports type bike or a crossover dual purpose thing for tearing up the mud every now and then, either is enjoyable. The big thing is size, I'm 6ft 2 so some of the smaller bikes don't have a nice riding position if you have the hunch down. Some of the cruisers are nice to sit on but it's not the kind of bike I'm looking at, it's good being casual cause I can just wait till things fall into place and I see something I like. Perhaps tomorrow, maybe in a couple months depending on what I learn and what else I get busy with.

Winter tis the time for inside projects, even if I spot something at turners with all the plastic blown off and it's cheap enough. Only thing I'm wary of is the old line "carbs need tuning" on some of the bikes which is dirty code for runs like a heap of shit and needs a new set of pistons lol.

Too true haha or you could luck out and it could just be a set of rings.

I have a motard bike, I'm pretty short (taller than Ricky though haha) and I can just touch the ground with one foot. I've had 2 other road bikes and the motard has been the slowest straight line speed but definitely the most fun (still easily cruises at 100km/h). This is the same bike as mine Except mine has the klx300 head and a graphic kit on it. Might buy me a set of dirt tyres and rims so I can swap them over easily and go for trial rides.

That's kinda like the stuff I like cause it's usable and fun cept I don't need a real nice one, something that has been laid over or needs a set of shock seals etc is fine. Only going to beat on it anyway and fall off in the driveway being dumb. I enjoy fixing things up slowly, those little things no one does.

Also not having the gear means I have to browse around for that to, the race gear gives me a helmet but a set of fireproof overalls won't do squat for road rash. Could probably use a new helmet anyway I guess. Should take up smoking, drinking and womanising; I'd save heaps.

Too right there! I don't buy alcohol anymore, if it's a birthday present I'll happily accept it haha. Money better spent on a new set of sticky tyres!
Don't buy a fancy helmet that costs shit load if you aren't planning on going for big rides etc. Just a couple hundred bucks should get you one that will protect your head from falling apart. I'd advise getting waterproof gear with some padding (My jacket was a cheap scooter jacket but it has padding in the right places and kept me dry inside it after an hour riding through the rain so I can't complain).
