Women have breasts of all sorts of sizes and likely have to expose more of the breast depending on it's size. They are likely oversized too, albeit not for long enough in some cases, and full of liquid that they need to get rid of. Next there'll be a limit to the amount of breast that a woman can show when breastfeeding in public. Get over it, nooo not literally. It's like noo one has ever seen tits before... if you get a chubba, tis your issue, not theirs.

I'm in the "do it discreetly" camp. I support demand feeding for babies but also feel that many women could actually plan their outings around feed/sleep time. Reckon there are women out there who put their own social calendar ahead of their babies' needs/routines so having to feed while out is a by-product of lack of planning sometimes.


Oh, before the pitchforks start pricking my bum I am well aware that "demand feeding" can mean that even with the best planning you can't always avoid a hungry bub announcing "feed me, and feed me NOW!!" while out and about. But I'm pretty certain that much of it could be avoided. Yes breast is best; yes women should feel no shame or embarrassment about something that is natural; but that doesn't mean everyone actually wants to cop an eyeful becuase they're in the wrong place at the wrong time. (Other than most of the men on this site... )

I don't think special rules of privacy apply, but a little bit of thought/respect from each side of the fence couldn't go a stray. Don't like it, don't look. Want to do it, cover up a tad.

On that note..... Public place or not, what kind of asshole takes photos of some random woman breast feeding and posts them on the internet anyway?

I BF anywhere and everywhere and wouldn't think twice about it, but I was also very good at doing it subtley. I often got comments from Mummy friends that they didn't even realise I was BF because I was so quick at latching him on and I wore clothing that made it easy for public feeding to be done with as little fuss as possible.
I had a band under my top so that you couldn't see any skin on my stomach which made it harder for people to realise that my top was lifted on one side.
He latched well so I was super lucky, but it's just a matter of good technique and practise if you ask me!


On the times I accidentally wore the wrong thing out, I'd occasionally use a blanket - although to be honest that caused more problems for me than using nothing!
The last time I used a blanket was when i was sitting in a cafe, and an older couple (I think they had no idea what I was doing) had been commenting on how cute he was when he was in the buggy. I picked him up when he began to fuss and popped a blanket over my shoulder (as they were sitting way too close) and fed him.
I was feeding when they decided to get up and leave and they went to say goodbye and the gentleman leaned over, moved the blanket away from bubba's head to say good bye to him.
I thought he was going to drop dead from shock when he realised I was feeding, it was hilarious!
I think he thought I was rocking him to sleep or something ahahahaha


I don't have a problem with feeding in public, but I do have a problem with an asshole taking pictures to plaster all over the web!
It's an invasion of privacy!
There are plenty of nude beaches around, and you can BET he'd get slammed for taking a photo of a nude woman and plastering that on the net... yet they are allowed to be nude there.
Why would he think that sneakily taking a photo of a womans breast while she is feeding her child okay???
