I often got comments from Mummy friends that they didn't even realise I was BF because I was so quick at latching him on and I wore clothing that made it easy for public feeding to be done with as little fuss as possible.
I had a band under my top so that you couldn't see any skin on my stomach which made it harder for people to realise that my top was lifted on one side.
He latched well so I was super lucky, but it's just a matter of good technique and practise if you ask me!

On the times I accidentally wore the wrong thing out, I'd occasionally use a blanket - although to be honest that caused more problems for me than using nothing!
The last time I used a blanket was when i was sitting in a cafe, and an older couple (I think they had no idea what I was doing) had been commenting on how cute he was when he was in the buggy. I picked him up when he began to fuss and popped a blanket over my shoulder (as they were sitting way too close) and fed him.
I was feeding when they decided to get up and leave and they went to say goodbye and the gentleman leaned over, moved the blanket away from bubba's head to say good bye to him.
I thought he was going to drop dead from shock when he realised I was feeding, it was hilarious!
I think he thought I was rocking him to sleep or something ahahahaha

I don't have a problem with feeding in public, but I do have a problem with an asshole taking pictures to plaster all over the web!
    It's an invasion of privacy!
There are plenty of nude beaches around, and you can BET he'd get slammed for taking a photo of a nude woman and plastering that on the net... yet they are allowed to be nude there.
Why would he think that sneakily taking a photo of a womans breast while she is feeding her child okay???
    I think he's a sicko and a pervert.
Look, fine. But when you cross the line to taking covert pictures..... that's a whole new kettle of fish.
Who else is he stalking and taking sneaky photo's of???

I was always subtle about it also. Had easily accessible tops so that I wasn't lifting my shirt and having my stomach hanging out. I'd usually plan to go back to the car when I knew he was due for a feed or showing signs of. Although not exactly a wise place to sit and feed a baby in the middle of summer. And one of the last times I parked up in a "private" area to feed my kid I had some weirdo trying to get in my car. NEVER AGAIN! Was only ever caught out a few times with a screaming baby. Mum and I would always catch up for lunch at one particular cafe, we'd always seat up at the rear of the cafe away from people with the pram "appropriately" positioned. And if I needed to due to the cafe being overly busy I'd head outside and feed my son at the tables out the back of the cafe where the workers usually took their breaks (they knew and left me to it).

Tell you what its hard latching a baby when you are absolutely chocka fulla milk!

I think people tend to forget that although there are "private" mum and bubs rooms available not everyone would be so keen to use them. The one available at the Sylvia Park Mall is nice and clean. The state of the one in Whangarei in my opinion is absolutely shocking and I'd seriously never use it. Where I live as far as I am aware there isn't one.

Seriously have to question if he was soooooo offended why take a photo. Its more than just weird.

Don't tell us...you have a nice little scam - oops, I mean scheme - going where you offer a quick lick to wet the appropriate spot so the sugar will stick?
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

I try to keep my breastfeeding private but what I consider private is sometimes too public for my wife.

I think like everything the situation is blown out of preportion by the millitants on both sides of the fence.
OHH i HAVE THE RIGHT TO BREASTFEED. so I'll flop by breast out anywhere/anytime. VS the extreme people who feel that even short skits arent acceptable.
One bit of idiocy is that its actually pretty darned uncomfortable feeding a baby in those plastic chairs in most food courts. So these millitant types are often in pain whilst making their point.
Jorja couldn't care less where she feeds sammy but beeing comfortable IS important to her.
To see a life newly created. To watch it grow and prosper. Isn't that the greatest gift a human being can be given?

I dont think its the act of breast feeding that many find offensive, its that it can make many people feel awkward and dont know how exactly to deal with the situation and thus feel dis-empowered.
Personally i find obvious public breast feeding rather awkward but have no problem if done discretely.
Some woman need to get their heads out of their ass and realise that some men may find breast feeding somewhat sexual and if they do it obviously shouldnt complain when they get negative attention.
