    Nice wee clip from English hillclimb series

    There is indeed mate,ive seen a lot of his footage over the years and in most cases it only gets worse,the trees a fucking huge not to mention there doing there thing on cold tyres,his comment is "allow room for the slide".He does pretty well all things considered.

    Good fun events. We had one here years ago up Mt Victoria...was awesome fun! Plenty of trees there too. They don't tend to move much...

    Fwiw its his last weekend riding the TLS as a 1080,hes put together a TL motor taken out to 1200 (a feat in itself) and hopes to race that next meeting.

    When way back i was working for Cable Price Toyota (changed to Rutherford and Bond) i almost crashed a very new (NZ new) MR2 when i shot up there in my lunch hour.Thing would spin on a dime,yea back in the day i went up there a few times to watch the events the car club had.

    I used to do a hill climb up Mt Vic with a few mates back in the day. Great little bit of road from the south side.

    That's a cool little hill climb - but too short. I guess it is difficult finding a good long sprint, and takes up more resourcing also.

    It really surprises me that more 'big names' didn't enter the Cliff Hanger. The Cliff Hanger is awesome at a distance of 6.1km.

    98tls - have you seen Jay Lawrence's run a few years ago ? Its on the hillclimb page www.cliffhanger.org.nz

    Great pic mate,yep hes something of a legend alright.Funny bugger on the phone,sounds like you have rung Emmerdale farm,ironic he lives only 40kms from where its filmed,mind you he reckons i have a pretty funny accent...

    Yes nice bit of road, I won that two years in a row too.
