    Lowlife thieving pricks

    Long story short…..

I need to purchase a reliable used lawnmower, petrol rotor cut with catcher preferred…

Eldest daughter is sorting her shit out and working hard part time (2 young kids, deadbeat dad) and studying to make a better life for her self and her boys. As you can imagine money is tight but she scrimped and saved and purchased a brand new lawnmower.

Shes used it twice and some cunts stolen it. Yeah – she knows better and should have secured it better but when you are renting that’s not always that easy. Plus its not the point really, it was not sitting out front, someone snuck around and knicked it from under the house. Her car was parked in the drive and anyone can see shes not exactly rolling in cash (not that this matters to these shitheads).

So – anyone Levin to Wellie got a sharp deal on a used mower of some sort?

    (yes I know about trademe)

Go have a chat to the local lawnmower repair guy. Plead you case.
They usually have an old (but reliable) repaired mower out that back that someone didn't pay the service bill for.

Who knows - might last more than the new one would have.

Dad got his first mower for the mowing business back in the 80's. Deal was that he could have 1 of them if he got all his blades, parts etc via the store. He ended up buying 2 mowers off the guy during the recession.
Most of those mower repairs guys are good old fella's. And are in the giving mood for a lady who is down in their luck
    (hint hint : take her)

We have an organisation here called Homebuilders. It is a support agency for families struggling, they have courses on gardening, positive parenting and the like. They are a fantastic organisation. They rent a house here in town and use that as their office etc. They have a big garden there, plus lawns. They got a grant to buy a mower to keep the place looking tidy and the same friggen thing happened, some low life stole it from under the house. It was padlocked up and they still got it. There was a bit in the paper about it. I happened to have a mower at home that was my Moms, it had had very little use and was just gathering dust here so I gave it to them.

Wish I had one to give to your daughter. Best of luck mate, hope something turns up for you.

Thanks for the support but I'll hit trademe I reckon.

I'm still very pissed off about it. Shes working her guts out to get ahead and was really proud of her new lawnmower... Bastards...

Its a small place - eventually it will come to light who took it....

If the experience of my parents counts for anything, I'd suggest taking a look at local lawn mowing contractors.
Measure once, cut twice. Practice makes perfect.
