Well a little bit on time was spent yesterday on TPS.

Gains, none in terms of peak power or even any increase anywhere.
But, the bum dyno provided some different feedback (being smoother) and it seems that one can snap the throttle open and it will not loose power.
So it's still worth playing a little more (maybe with oxygen sensor and temp probes to get a better handle on what's actually happening)...
Maybe a MAP sensor might be a better option than TPS??

Anyway 5 more sleeps to the norfs.

    Little clip

Our thoughts exactly. But sort of hard to start as maps aren't that common (nor any guidance on where to start)...

I am looking on 3d ignition map trying gsxr600 and crf150r
But as they have poppet valves my heart is not really in it lol
this is a car one anyway
I would talk to someone who has done programmable fuel injection on a 600 as they will have the curve info from a stock set up to point you in the right direction.

Yea found a few 600 options and tried them out. Then just hacked up something that seemed to work.
Yea well not a two banger but fun learning none the less.

Yea... Na.. Too mild, even the old thunderace (or what ever the 600 was called) was more aggressive than that. But cheers mate, reinforces my thought processes and resulting map we knocked up.

Quite surprised how much advance there is.

on that curve I posted, at low throttle I was, but then again it would not matter as it would not be there once it was opened. Or are you meaning on your map?
Be careful with Yamaha stuff they are poos, plus the 5 valve head needs Mondo advance. They use to need to run 50 plus degrees on the old FZR's.
You made me think but it was Thundercat wasn't it.

The Ecotrons system uses either the VE load map or the TPS load map to determine the engine load. Which method is used at what RPM versus TPS % is determined in another table. As previously stated there is no "point" at which the system switches from one to another but rather the final figure is weighted by one table or the other more or less depending on values in this table. That load is used to determine the ignition advance used using another table of load versus rpm. It does not use a direct TPS versus rpm table to determine the ignition angle.

This makes sense when you think about it. The throttle position at times has little relevance to the engine load and cannot be used alone as a reliable indicator of engine load and therefore ignition advance requirements. This is more pronounced at lower revs where in the Ecotrons system the maps give more weight to the VE table which relates to the MAP value and the TPS is ignored. In the lower performance engines such as the Honda clones the TPS map is only used when the TPS is over 95% and at high revs(relatively)
