    Yes; stick in some think'ish paper or card and rub it hard enough to get an out-line of all the ports (without moving moving it).
    then as you say stroke is set and the basic calc's are form 3 maths from there...
    (or go back through the 500 pages of the ESE thread for more complex calculations)

    you should end up with something like this.

    It makesw it easier to scan the portmap into the PC if you put the edge of the paper between ports.
