Nice one Scott. I applaud your resourcefulness, hopefully it goes well for yah!
All I've got here is an assembled GSX250 race engine for which I will have another go at a frame this winter.
If the pic you posted is jerry's replica as i think, none of the head or barrel shapes say Suzuki to me. The only remotely similar thing is the two oil gallery hex plugs on the end of the head. Looking at the end caps it is possible it may have lever cam followers with a narrow valve angle rather than the OE Honda direct buckets and wide angles.
It is possible however for Jerry to have cast up head and barrel using GSX250/400 valves and followers - the GSX400 air cooled four has a good head shape but piss poor bottom end.
Team GPR views?
GP this year, I'm thinking of giving it a miss again and handing the beast to a young fella.
I'm a little over the (it's not fair, rules not right, sheep station racing world champions, egos etc etc). The fun of it isn't really there currently for me: on top of my workload, work projects, drought and club stuff...
Does the team mind having someone new?
Understandable, especially when the gp brings out all the noters who don't do fuck all for the sport at any other time of the year. I'm much the same, I'm unsure (new baby due) if I can make it, so I'm not going to upgrade licence. Also I don't fell right doing the lady boy as you put it. Lol. Gpr150 for hire![]()
You need to buy a dirt bike young man(edit, sheesh, both of you). . I didn't really start till I was at least 30something but it gives you a new lease on life.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.
You forget I only just sold my KTM... Bloody thing kept on trying to kill me (maybe it was me trying to keep up with the little shits on 85s)..
Getting a lot of enjoyment out of the VMCC junior program (working with the kids) and trying to develop a full blown junior program and getting it off the ground: in conjunction with Manfield / VMCC / High-schools / MNZ / anyone that will listen and/or pony up some dosh.. But this takes a lot of effort (but so close to getting the green light: meaning bucket racing back in the Manawatu as well).. You can thank me later gents...
Kerry, I need a fav from you. We need a couple more bods to sit the MNZ stuff to get the aforementioned off the ground (a couple of parents will be doing the same and myself) and likely a few from other clubs will help out as well.
Most the guys there are not to bad .heap of guys that don't even race not (much) are more the shit sterers. if kerry did not want to do the the sidecar I would flag it to.or do the non cheats class

Not sure I knew you had a KTM. Never saw you at any trail rides. Maybe something a bit more sedate like a WR? See the country.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.
Im not saying the 99% of the that guys that turn up are shitheads.
I really enjoy catching up with everyone (beer in hand) and will likely attend to do this..
But I'm still sour about what went down last year.
Being the one on the corner with the flag (missing the the critical bit) unable to supply a definitative yes/no to the Steward/CoC- it has sadden me that it all degraded to the polar views & outcome on the day and afterwards.
Everyone is entitled to their own views and likely saw things differently from a different angle: but the call was made and the outcome was right for the information provided.
It just showed how serious people are actually taking things.
Then, a protest at the Auckland two hour... Fck me...
Thus i see movement down the slippery slope...
Again time was the issue Dave.
The lifestyle job in local government is a 100% of my lifestyle (consumes far more time than it should) - but the payoffs in terms of involvement and personal enjoyment has been amazing. I guess it just depends on what side of he bed I wake up on...
