    Qualifying:

As always qualifying is really hard due to it being only 4 laps which makes it hard to post down a good time, also because its the first time on the track in a while.
I tried to stay as much at the front of the pack as possible on the way out so that i would not be slowed down by anyone. The three mini lites managed to pass me during the first lap but that was ok because i knew there was no way of keeping up with them. Although it does help me push my lap times down trying to keep up with a faster bike. I knew that my main rival throughout the series will be Rogan, so if i qualified near him i knew id be fine as i can get better starts then him in the race. I managed a decent qualifying time of 1:31.344 which i though was ok but i knew i could do much better As my personal best qualifying time is 1:31.020. This put me seventh on the grid and second in streetstock, two places behind Rogan. From this i knew that to have a good chance at beating Rogan i had to beat him into the first corner.

    Race 1 (5 laps)

After a really good start from me getting me up into about 3rd or 4th place I started to brake a bit early into the first corner allowing Rogan to come in front of me which i then tryed to counter by cutting on the inside, which Rogan tried to close up causing me to bump into him with my front wheel and faring this caused me to slow down and take the corner wide which allowed the two prolites and Zane on his streetstock get past me. I was now in 3rd place in the streetstocks. After pushing hard behind Zane i managed to pass him on lap two (i think) through the tight s section. This allowed me to make up some distance on Rogan. After seeing that Aaron had ridden of the track i thought i might still be able to catch Rogan. But after pushing hard until the end his lead was to much to make up as he was doing similar lap times to me. This still gave me a good 22 points in the series.

    Races 2 and 3 canceled

    Race 4 (8 laps)

Because I had never done an 8 lap before i told myself at the start of the race to take it easy so i could last the entire distance. After getting another good start i managed to get in front of Rogan again but didnt hold it for long after he beat me under braking into Higgins. After swqapping positions with Rogan time and time again i thought to my self that if i keep this up and due to lack of energy i decided to pull back a bit and with no Zane in the race I knew i was guaranteed second place. I still managed a PB of 1:29.582 which i was happy with.

    Race 5 (8 laps)

After getting some encouragement from Jason Lincoln and some 98 gas donated by Rogans Dad. I decided that this time ive gotta win or the series win might be out of my grasp. after another good start i was leading the streetstock for a short while after being passed by Rogan who also got in front of Aaron Carr left me battling most of the race with the prolite but after some serious braking and locking up the rear wheel into the first corner (by this time it was already lap 7). and coming round the first corner in front of Aaron i saw Rogan about 30m in front of me and by the first corner of lap 8 i was only a couple of bike lengths behind him, where he looked to his left to see behind him but because i was to his right i dont think he saw me. While coming up to the hairpin i tried to take the inside line on him but still managed to come out in front. I therefore knew that the only way for me to win this was getting the better run onto the home straight as i knew i could take the last corner faster then him. While coming up to the last corner i braked earlier than Rogan to give us a bit of distance round the corner in which i could take it faster. I knew by the end of the corner I could catch him but for some reason decided to take the outside line which caused me to come of the racing line with far less grip. this caused the bike to start to wobble but i held onto it and kept as tucked as possible. I was slowly passing Rogan within inches of touching him and flew across the line 0.015 of a second in front of him giving me the win. This for me was the best race I have ever raced and points wise put me in second by 3 points. My last lap which i passed Rogan was a 1:28.127 which now is my PB. So now need to get down into the 1:27s.

Good report, well done on the results and improvements in lap times

Awesome report Dave, seems like I was there mate..................oh, I was

A mate is using the Green KR you raced at the Taupo Nats so there is one more SS150 there too

You rode well all weekend and that last race was a cracker, between you and Rogan and the Sarah E, Sarah R and Simon battle on the 250's it was hard to know were to look
