Done the real tight budget thing too - not place want to ever revisit.

Cheerz gloplg - found out yesterday when did that run to Akaroa in Feb prob had well over 50 lbs in both tyres - no wonder felt unstable and wobbly on greasy hill-top, cheap chinese gauge was showing 26lbs after airing up after going off trail but the digital gauge at shell belfast was showing 35.

Scored brand new UK made gauge last night for $15 - standard issue in Daimler/Jag tool kit didn't beat the bosch for nothing

Watch out for those cheap chinese tyre gauges - good get one into lot of trouble ......

so i like to come on here wind up the geeky mofo's for a laugh and then ride with real non internet friends who like to ride the same way as me and have fun doing it with out all the PC crap that comes along with riding on the WNR

Ok the weather looks good for the next couple of days, does anyone, apart from the last poster, want to go for a short ride???
And remember ...... if it hasn't got one of "Uncle Flip's" prosthetic kickers it isn't a real motorbike!!!

Summit Rd was still a little frosty last Sunday evening but is all good at the moment with all this warm wind and warm nights.
It is dry and almost as swept as in summer.
I've been doing night rides up there running in my engine after work this week.
Going to get some daylight riding including more laps of the Summit and round the bays now the weekend is here.

Fair bit of traffic up there today... saw some L plates among the bikes, also cars and cyclists as usual.
Got to watch out for those Motard riders though, the worst oncoming white line crosser was one of those taking up some of my lane. Still, I was ready for him so I moved further left and we past with room to spare.

ChCh looked a bit clouded in for a while from up top.

Congrats on the new bike - was impressed with brother in-laws YZF250 when rode it, he's had a great run out of it and not the biggest on maintenance, done loads and loads of trail rides on it.

Went over diamond harbour yesterday (4 wheels) fine shingle on corners between Lyttelton and Governors ......

Thanks, I like it a lot so far and when the Bashplate arrives I look forward to finding out what it's like up Bossu Rd, the Western Valley and the Waimak.
Just home for lunch and taking off some layers after running it out of gas (to the point of it starting to starve) to see what the best case for the big tank is. 377km on 13.19L.
Be interesting to see how that changes when I get some highway and more than half throttle.

    What great weather.

    21st/22nd July Any Rids Happening?

    Hi,

I've just graduated from my L to restricted, but I am still quite new to riding. Have done CHCH to Akaroa a few times now. Just wondering if any casual rides going this weekend or if anyone knows any clubs that would be suitable?

    Many thanks

    Mike

If the weather is fine I'm keen to get out, went around summit road yesterday arvo and it was fantastic, felt like spring and the road was clear, lot of hikers and cyclists as per usual. Will check in on Friday once we have a better idea what the weather is doing and make a meeting place.

    cheers
    Jen
