$1 reserve CBR400rr

As per the title...selling a CBR400rr for $1 reserve. Was my brothers, he bought a new bike and left it sitting on his deck for a year because he had lost the key. I took over it with a mind to turning it into a cheap track toy, but never got around to it...it has sat in my garage for nearly 2 years now...and i have realised that I am never going to have the time to 'trackerize' it...plus I want my garage back. Also got some 4x4 wheels going super cheap. Bid away!

NC29. Frame has some scrapes where it was slid down the road by a previous owner (on the left hand side). Forks are straight but do have leaking seals. Swing arm...all should be good, haven't checked bearings for play, but will do tomorrow. To be safe, assume they need replacing (pretty easy job though). Tank - all good, drained some of the old fuel out and it doesn't appear to have any rust in it. Overall it is by no means a minter and needs some elbow grease to make it decent again. IMO it is best suited to stunt or track bike...but if someone really wants to put it back on the road...then there is no reason why it can't be done.

To be honest, I have no idea what it is worth, hence why I used a $1 reserve. Generally the market dictates what a fair price is. Might be more, might be less! My brother bought it off a kiwibiker back in the day and I think he paid $1800 for it with no fairings, however it ran a bit better than it currently does! I suspect half it's issues would be sorted with a new tank of fuel. Because the key got lost, the fuel in the tank is about 2 years old...clean the carbs, some new fuel, new spark plugs it might just fire up like a champ.

Not to be disparaging (as I'm sorely tempted) but even if it was free it would still cost more to put right than buying a good one. Sad economics

Yes it would (unless someone did all of the work themselves, as I was planning on doing)! That's why I stuck it up with a $1 reserve, people can decide for themselves what it is worth to them (honestly, I have no idea what it is worth...). The 4x4 tyres and rims I stuck up sold for about as much as what a punter could buy them new for...also from a $1 reserve, the bloke who picked them up was stoked with his score.

Depends on personal standards and by what is meant by 'right'. I've quite a hankering for one of these bikes but most of them have been giant money pits to get them 100% functional and cosmetically 'nice' (I'm fussy) and yes that includes me doing it myself ;-)

Damn shame that it sat so long, someone must want to love it?
