No, no, no! Anyone who tells you that you can get good quality homebrew beer in 7 days is full of shit. It takes a minimum of 6 weeks for the beer to even be drinkable from start to finish.
You'd be a lot better off just buying a fermenter, wash hydrometer, airlock, airlock grommet and stirring spoon. Buy some Coopers homebrew kits from Pak n Save, then dry hop with hop pellets or dried hops.
It's a scam. For a decent brew it will take at least 3 months from start to finish.
None of the commercial brews take anywhere near 3 months.
It's not a scam. Ian Williams is a brilliant young New Zealander (and a GC) who has developed the WW Personal Brewery after years of working as a Master Brewer for Heineken. The machines sell for around NZD$5,500 and are manufactured in Hawkes Bay. I attended a conference earlier in the year where this machine was displayed & beer was dispensed for attendees to sample. The verdict; "World class".
You could win one!
I've been making a lot of homebrew beer and it does take around 3 months from start to finish to get a decent brew. Those commercial brews like Speights, Tui, Export Gold etc are nothing more than slightly alcoholic pond water.
I can guarantee that the beer from this kit will taste nasty and leave a bad hangover if you dare get drunk off it.
Then what is it? Have you ever brewed beer before? I've made a lot of beer with different kits, and the science is the same. These kits all use malt extract which contains barley malt, hops and water. You mix it with boiling water, then add cold water to bring the temperature between 20-25°C (for an ale yeast), then add the yeast.
The yeast will take a minimum of 1 week to bring a brew with a SG of 1.04 to 1.01. The beer will ferment faster at higher temperatures, although that will increase the amount of higher order alcohols (alcohols with more than 2 carbon atoms) such as fusels as well as 1-propanol, 2-propanol, butanol and amyl alcohol. These alcohols are what cause hangovers.
It should then be left for another 2 weeks to age, then dry hopped, then left for another week to 10 days, then bottled or kegged. At 20°C it will take around 3 weeks just for the beer to carbonate, after which it should be left for another month at least to condition before it's ready to drink.
Higher SG brews take longer to condition. Go to www.homebrewtalk.com and do some research before you start accusing me of talking shit. Start reading a bit about biology and how yeast actually work.
Commercial brews are nothing like homebrew beer.
Launching a personal attack on me still doesn't explain why you're right and why I'm wrong. I'm still waiting for your scientific reasoning as to why you think you're so right.
Simply saying "I just think you're a cock" is a pretty childish way to prove someone wrong as a last ditch effort to win an argument you know that you're never going to win.
See, now there's your problem. You spend all day arguing with cunts on the internets that you think everything is about right & wrong. I wasn't attempting to argue with you or disprove anything you posted. Simply stating my own personal opinion, that being that you are a cock.
Have you perused the WlliamsWarn website? Or perhaps that's futile, seeing as nobody will ever know as much as yourself on the subject of brewing beer?
Cock.
Thanks for the compliment yet again. I have gone to the WilliamsWarn website and I have watched the video they have showing how the system works. I have done a fair bit of reading on that website as well. Even though there is a lot I don't know about brewing beer (I'm by no means an expert), I still know enough about the subject to know when someone is talking shit.
I never said the system won't work, it's just that it will at best only produce bad tasting beer with a strong "cidery" taste. If you would like to know how to brew beer then I'm happy to guide you though it with any questions you may have on the topic. It's a very rewarding hobby, especially getting your first batch of beer which tastes better than the supermarket stuff!
If you get a spam email promising to enlarge your cock by 3" in 7 days for one easy payment of $29.95, will you also believe it? What about those "I work from home and earn $US5,000 a month for 10 hours work" spam emails. Do you believe that as well?
I hate home brewers. All they do is go on about how good their stuff is and how shit the stuff is off the shelf. I drink what tastes good dont give a fuck where it came from!
