    Refurbing OEM RGV stingers/mufflers

    Hey Guys,

I want to refurbish my stock VJ21 stingers. Their overall condition is good but they both suffer some road rash down the length of each from sliding down the road many moons ago that has developed some surface rust.

I want some advice about how to refurb it so its not so noticeable on the eye. I think the scrapes are bit to deep to be easily sanded back. A friend mentioned acid dipping them but googling images on acid dipping shows some pretty varied results.

Ill upload some pics of them later tonight to give you a better idea on what I mean.

    Cheers,
    Nick

If they're too deep to sand out, then acid won't help. A sheet metal worked should be able to make some new skins fairly easily. Have you considered skinning them in carbon? That would hide the markings for sure. Also give Sean at The Tuning Works an email, he can probably source some new ones.
