iTunes crashing? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA don't they have an app or a social club where you all hug each other for that?

As for winamp - I have been a user since way back in 1995. It has changed a little, but it had fantastic features like visualizations and crossfaders way back in the 90's when all apple could product was Quicktime (the cheap whore that it is).

Shame AOL fucked up the marketing for it and made it disappear. But then again when have AOL done anything right. They fucked up Netscape for years only to have it rescued by the Mozilla team (fyi its renamed "firefox" now for all you youngins).

Winamp gets another vote. The only glaring gripe is moving your ratings database to a new PC, which at this stage of game should be trivial, it's been around more than a decade now. It's had iPod support via the included mlPod plugin since ages ago.

iTunes is a somewhat bloated and cumbersome product designed to lock you into their ecosystem; it's best avoided, but admittedly it's good for mum and her ilk.

/edit: Ok, I take that back.... 170MB??? Somewhat bloated... what I meant is a hideously bloated piece of shit.

Bit of a shame really... iPods are reasonable bits of kit... that you can't replace the battery or dump MP3s on them is basically unforgivable unless you're a completely brain dead fuckwit that probably couldn't manage to accomplish those things in any case.

If apple fired its software team tomorrow I would use more of their kit. As it stands the only bit left in the house is the sons Ipad. Why does he have an ipad, well he is only 1 so needs something that is retarded easy to do stuff on.

As for software not doing what it's supposed to - I am a huge dropbox fan. On my android phone it is worth gold. I don't even plug in the phone to get photos anymore - Dropbox gets them all for me, automatically.
You think this would be same with dropbox apple app. However this is not the case. Unless you using apples icloud, your not getting anything off anywhere automatically. Bloody joke. Tried to help a friend out, and got completely frustrated with the simplest of tasks (copy/paste/move) because the iOS locks you out of EVERYTHING. Her dropbox does automatically download all her photos now - but only after she plugs in the cable.
She is not a fan of using iCloud (she had issues with apples similar email setup a while ago).
    WTF!
