    Lap of Honour?

Just wanting to know what your views are regarding doing a Lap of Honour around a Race Track where a fellow Racer has lost his/her life. Question........ Should you or should you not wear a helmet to show your respects?.
And who is it up to who tells you whether you should or shouldn't?.

I would think that's up to whoever has the track hired, and maybe their rulebook.

regardless of where you are, why would you ride without a helmet?
even at very low speed, head injury is a very real risk without protection.

There are rules in the MNZ rule book on this already, ie how and what conditions must be met. ie speed and how it is controlled.

While I agree in principle, at a organised event on a race track with limited speed involved the chances of a crash are virtually non-existent.

However I'm making no comment on any actual event as I wasn't there.

On the lap you are referring to , you could have run round faster.
My neighbours diary says I have boundary issues

You could do that tripping on a rug/cat/dog/fucking anything at home

There is a "pace bike" and no one is likely to do dumb shit on a lap like that

Any lap of honour or parade lap should be done without a helmet

I think if the option on no helmet is available the choice should be left up to the individual riders, some people wouldn't feel comfortable minus helmet regardless of the low speed

Surely it's a question of aesthetics? In most of our cases I'd think it's absotively posilutely helmet on.

It's not a universal belief, so it should be up to the individual.
Me - I'm a believer in pillion pegs down. If they're fitted, of course...
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
