A 1 litre single cylinder race engine - I think I just wet myself

I've been talking to Ben Ballard again and he's got the engine in pre-production prototyping, of which they're making 40 units.

    Bore 123.00mm x 84.00mm stroke .... 7200rpm rev limit .... 4 gears .... 39kgs .... maximum dimensions 548mm x 398mm x 407mm .... mount width 110mm ....

Anyone know the dimensions of a 675 for mounting etc?? I reckon that would be a perfect match.

    Might be a problem shoe-horning the 548mm height into a 675.

Might be problems with the large primary balance forces if the mounts aren't well though out.

Think it'd be easier to make a steel frame and use the 675 front and swingarm.

    Maybe.

You should pm Oyster and ask him about the one he was planning to building, can't remember what it was from but he had a cylinder off some aircraft sitting there

Don't think you'd want to cos there's no starter motor, It's setup for using an external starter much like how the Ducati MotoGP bikes are started.

fuck its just a single, slam a kickstarter on it

Certainly not the most powerful way to spend 1000cc, but definitely a cool way to go! That thing will sound spectacular.

    Don't see any decompressor there.
    Might be painful.

He can. But he won't. It's a race engine from the ground up.

I imagine it would torture the shit out of tyres too. It's not a huge amount of torque, but it delivers it all in one huge, very serious bang. Giggles galore I reckon.

100nm is a very respectable amount of torque for any "low" revving 1000cc engine. I bet that baby will be super fun in nigh on any chassis.

    Hmm 'Prillia RS1000 anyone?
