I love how they think Mr Dotcom was dangerous! all these excuses to use excessive force.
He had taken a picture of himself with a gun!!! seriously half of NZ own guns and post pics of themselves on facebook etc hunting with mates etc.
How many other times in the history of NZ has someones house been raided by Helicopter and special ops type (secret) forces! http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/ar...ectid=10825903

The absolute fuckwits that you speak of are, at the end of the day, you me and everyone else that call themselves Kiwis! (taxpayers)

It will be interesting to see how Dot.com behaves over this, if he demands his pound of flesh, I for one suggest that he just fuck off!

I can't see it happening, the money is irrelevant to him.
Just a public apology would be enough I'm sure, can't see good ol US of A doing anything of the sort though!
He just wants to be left alone.

With four vans blocking his driveway, where was he going to run anyway?

the guy was known to have weapons, and surround himself with guards that knew how to use them, he was found in a hidden lock up room with a shotgun, shows they had the right to have some fears,

yes i retrospect that police over reacted, but i would not go in there any other way with those sorts of things hanging around, there is a dead cop from Napier that went to see someone with a similar MO, it is much easier to look back at stuff and figure out better ways to do it, hindsight is good like that,

It is similar to the Tihoe raids, it was way over the top but its not the sort of town you can just rock up in a cop uniform and ask the guys nicely to come down to the station and have a chat,

uhh. the shotgun was locked in a safe. he was a licenced firearm's user.

the dead cop in napier got his own dumb ass shot for exceeding his authority.

and yes, he probably would have come along if the cops knocked on the door (i can't see him running anywhere.) and it would have made the ballsed up shonk on which the whole op was based even more pathertic-a spectacle. thier asses would have been served back ot them in court directly.

My thoughts exactly. He knows and understands that if he seeks reparations from NZ that NZer's get hurt. But I say "go forth and conquer" if he goes after the US side of this story so that he can get back to running his business. Just not at NZ's expense.

most kiwi farmers have weapons and know how to use them!
If you had a helicopter with special forces type ops and unmarked vans rocking up smashing down doors what would you do? Shit your pants? Perhaps run to a safe room?
NZ should not have been bullied into this full stop, and if the government had decided to do something it should have been dealt with in a normal way!
A couple of cop cars, the correct paperwork following due diligence.

This is nothing like the Tihoe raids! There was no known training in paramilitary warfare!

The guy is a family man with 5 kids, he's not about to shoot up his house! or kill anyone.
Its a complete over reaction to some other countries over reaction based on $$$ nothing more!
Its shameful that this sort of shit happens in our own backyard.
We should be standing up for ourselves and not letting the US boss us around.

I can see their reasoning. He's Cherman and they lost the war and he's about to be arrested for the heinous crime of breaching copyright. I know I'd strap myself with belts of bullets and wipe them out knowing that I was the best of the best on COD and claim that they drew first blood.
    I didn't think!!! I experimented!!!

really? why? there is not yet any proof, or conviction showing he has done anything wrong, other than inject a significant amount of cash into our economy

theres a chicken or egg scenario right there. Ii I heard a helicpoter, and realised people were repeling from it into my house, and storming my premises by force I would be trying to go somewhere safe and find something to protect myself too.

If the had knocked on the door with a warrant, he would have opened the door, and had no choice but to let them execute the warrant, end of story, so really, that argument is kind of invalid

John Campbell alluded this evening that something big was coming out....then the media were excluded.Whats the bet it was an admission that the FBI were calling the shots....that we wont hear them on any "tape" because they were running it from somewhere else & on that the man in the dock refused to comment...
