New (old) fella in from up North (bigdave)

    Howdy Folks,

Thought it best to use my first post to say hello.... Hello!

Had a two year break from two wheels but never lost the interest. I am a UK import that now calls Northland home. I sold all my bikes to move here and finally now settled I have got back in the seat.

Just bought my first cruiser last week in the shape of a C90T Bulevard. Rode it up from Auckland to Whangarei and not had chance yet for any other rides out. But so far so good. Real comfy to ride and I reckon its going to fun and slow me down!

Well, see you out there people!

    Cheers

    Dave

Where in the country are those meets? Whangarei?

Who said Pom? I paid for my ticket! Not related to a prisoner or a £10 cheapskate! Ha har!!

I have had a few sports bikes over the years... CB600, GSXR750, TL1000S but mostly into naked type bikes such as 1200 Bandit, GX1400, etc, ect... Also had a very nice 70s custom streefighter and an orignal 70s CB750 before I left the UK.

Can I be in the gang now then..??

Hi Dave, the sunday rides are Ulysses rides and this week is going to Mangonui, about 140km, leaving 10.30am.
They are a good bunch of guys to ride with and go somewhere different every week, you are expected to ride at YOUR pace, {Quicker than some of us judging by your past bikes!] and usually there is a TEC.
Might see you there? Al. [I will be joining in Kerikeri or Mangonui]

Not used to this big cruiser thing yet so certainly wont be quick. Thats really why I bought it to be honest. Wont make it this week as just out of hospital today and my eyes are a bit dodgy. But will see that morning how I feel. Having a run to Dargaville tomorrow to see how I get on.

I better go find out what a Ulysees ride and TEC means now I reckon...

    Cheers

Says on their site its a club for over 50s? Must have changed now then.

Must admit that weekend rallies I am used to are spent drunk in a field listening to live rock bands and crashing back to my tent in the small hours. Not a masked ball in a scout hut! BUt I suppose each to their own.

Still fancy the idea of some rides out with folks all the same. Also will be looking out for rallies once I get sorted!

TEC - get it now thanks!

    Cheers
