Support CBR250 mc22 carb fuel flow entry problem?

changed the wiring loom on my wife's MC22. Fired up nicely. noticed some petrol dripping down from underneath and a quick search shows that its coming from the area of fuel inflow. i can not figure out 2 things
    1) coming from the hose to plastic connection.
    2) coming from the inflow-to-rail connection.
Number one seems fairly easy to solve.
Number 2 scares the shit out of me, as i never pulled carbs out before. Yes, its the first time I'm taking shit apart.
Question: Do i need to completely dismantle the fuel rail where the inflow tab sits, or there is some more peaceful way of doing it?
Also another side question - WTF is that thing? picture attached. plugs into the gauges.

Are you sure the fuel leak is not from a cracked fuel hose?

Before taking the carbs off check the condition of the rubber boots, if they look perished, dont take them off untill you have a replacement - as they can get brittle and breaks.

They have hose clamps on the boots you need to undo to take the carbs off, (do this while engine hot - Soft rubber) then rock the carbs back and forwards to pop them off.

To put them back on, you need to swear alot and use a hot air gun to heat the rubber boots to make them soft, I also use a bit of rubber grease, if i have it handy.

Its really important to get the boots on the engine properly, otherwise the bike wont run right (obviously).

If your taking the carbs off, it might pay to clean them (DIY or take it to a shop) and then get them balanced once they are installed (I recommend motorcycle doctors for this).

As for dismantling the bank of carbs into individual carbs, im sorry but ive never gone that far...

Have seen this heaps on old cbr's. Pull the carbs connect to remote fuel supply and look for where the leak is coming from, it could be the float bowl rubber gaskets as these bikes are old enough for them to have gone hard and a small knock is enought to start them leaking. to could also be from the o rings that seal the T section you will have to split the carb bank to replace these. Make sure the carbs are at the same angle as they sit on the bike when testing or they will leak from the breather points.

Crap in the needle and seat. Take the bowl off and float out(without bending the height tab) and remove the fuel cock needle and check for grit stopping it from sealing off the incoming petrol when bowl full.
