I've used lots of their jackets and pants. Always been great, and I would definately buy from them again.

I've got a pair of their pants and a jacket. I like them, the are fairly comfy and a reasonable amount of waterproof-ness. Like was said before the jacket does feel a bit bulky.
I would buy from them again, but I would prefer to be able to try them on first. I think they do allow you to but it was a bit far away for me.
    Great people to deal with.

    I've had:
    1tonne pants
    1tonne "race" boots
    1tonne sports boots
two sets of gloves from 1tonne.

Their quality has gone up in leaps and bounds over the years, my "race" boots and first set of gloves were pretty rubbish, but that was in 2008 or so.
My pants were excellent, fit well and very warm/breathable for leathers.
The sport style boots are fantastic, warm and comfy, I wear them most days.
The second set of gloves seemed well made for light weight gloves, but I wouldn't buy their gloves again.

    So, in my opinion:
Their leather gear is great value.
    The boots are great value
The gloves are junk (the light weight ones)

Don't cheap out on gloves, I broke my hand last year and that was with Teknic Lightning gloves, best ones I have owned by miles. I'd hate to see what my hand would be like in the 1tonne gloves.
As far as I can see it's built to the same, or better quality than any other gear of that price and they are brilliant to deal with.
My Quasi gear is awesome, so bring the debates on.

My G/F got some boots off them, at the budget end of the range, some fabric on the front came away from the stitching, purely cosmetic & without hesitation 1 tonne sent a new pair. Great service for us & the boots despite the small problem are great value.

yes well now that qmoto is longer run by a brainless incompetant cunt we can hope the quality will improve from a single line of stitching in places. maybe the company will also have customer service of a level that inspires confidence and repeat custom.

I never had any issues with Brett and my gear is well made and crash tested by myself.
But, I've heard a lot of stories about him, and to be honest, I don't give a flying fuck. He treated me well and sold me nice gear, winning.

I'd have to echo that - all my dealings with Brett were just fine and the gear has stood the test of time and a few "outings" as well.

People like 1tonne, Qmoto etc may have an advantage of low overheads by not being in a 'premises' per se, and that IS all to the good in some respects for consumers. However when you are looking at gear, it isnt just NZ that gets supplied by various manufacturers.. technix, Ixon, Spidi etc.. There IS a reason you pay $600+ for a superior touring jacket. I own a couple, as well as mid priced ones... if you are an everyday rider over any distance? (say 30-45 mins as a minimum) any weakness for rain letting WILL get found out.
There are so many different 'user group' forums on the web, but for durability and real world testing of 'proofing' for gear? the guys who do adventure riding/green laneing are the forums to read up, a lot of 'reasonable/good gear (supposed) gets a shellacking in these forums.... There's a reason BMW gear IS so damned pricey.....

So to my mind, regardless of 'how good' stuff may be... its the actual had knocks/hard use that really shows value for money.

Over the years Brett was involved in running Qmoto they have had massive amounts of repeat business and excellent customer service...maybe not from or to you...but once again thats your story and as they say there is always two sides to those.

This thread is asking about 1Tonne leathers not Qmoto leathers and you seem to fail to realize by continually ranting about your grinding axe you are in fact advertising Qmoto and not 1Tonne. I have no axe at all to grind re the 1Tonne gear (as I have never dealt with them or worn any of their products) and I do believe they would rather you STFU about Qmoto in these types of threads.

Now back to peoples opinion of 1Tonne gear.

I'm a noob, but I am happy with my new 1tonne gear. Comfortable and great value. No issues with quality so far. They sent me a larger pair of gloves very quickly. I got a full set of top-priced textile touring gear. Hopefully I don't need to find out how it holds up in an accident...

Dont worry this guy (tigetug) was never a customer of Qmoto, he did buy some gear second hand from someone else and jumped on a thread last year about how shit the gear was, apparently the Velcro failed (as it does sometimes) I offered immediately to fix it despite being smashed up by this plonker on here, you can see evidence of this on his very own profile page.
The guy is unusual and loves hating.
Qmoto is vastly superior to 1 tonne and will always be, the Knox armour alone sees that as true !!.
Different ends of the market, good luck to 1 tonne, they werent a competitor
